The Infrared Counterpart of X1323-619
Abstract
X1323-619 is a low-mass x-ray binary which shows deep 50 ruin dips in its x-ray light curve with a periodicity of 2.93 h. Using the AAT+IRIS, we have discovered a faint (K'=17.05±0.20, J∼20), variable IR object within the Einstein error circle for X1323-619. The variability observed from this object, combined with the positional coincidence, brightness considerations, and the lack of other suitable candidates in the field, make it very likely that this is the IR counterpart of X1323-619.
